3/11/2019 10:24:00 PM

Senior Megan Rush hit a pair of inside-the-park home runs, including a grand slam, as Softball blasted visiting Evans, 18-0, to improve to 9-0 on the season. Raychel Trocki struck out seven in three innings and picked up her fourth no-hitter of the season. DP teased the Trojans with a run in the first before unleashing eight in the second and closing out the barrage with seven more runs in the third inning. Gracie Lopez put the Panthers up for good in the first inning with an RBI base hit to bring home Dejia Benn and in the second, Lopez doubled home Benn and Ailey Schyck to push the lead to 5-0. Still in the second, walks to Kati Kelly and Aliyah Headen loaded the bases for Megan Rush, who ripped a drive into center field that cleared the bases for an inside-the-park grand slam. Up 9-0, DP continued the assault in the third when Lopez drove a 2-1 pitch over the center field fence for a two-run home run to make it 13-0. Megan Rush followed three batters later with her second inside-the-park home run, another shot into center field that scored Cayla Wilder, Aliyah Headen and Rush to close out the game. DP has now notched shutouts in eight of their nine games and will have its most difficult test of the season as they host Boone Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
