Beach Volleyball nets first victory

With a resounding sweep, Beach Volleyball picked up the program's first-ever victory as they defeated host Tavares, 5-0. In the first pair, Kaley Landis and Olivia Osuna overcame a tough first set and rallied to win the next two in a 15-21, 21-18, 15-9 victory. Alexis Distasio and Caroline Davis dominated their first set, 21-2, but eased up in the second (17-21) before taking the deciding game three, 15-13, to claim the second pair. DP's third pair of Emily Evans and Victoria Zarazel had no problems in their match with a dominating 21-10, 21-9 victory, but in the fourth pair, Skias Hainline and Vianne Kazan exchanged blows with Tavares in the first two sets (21-15, 14-21) before rolling to a 15-8 victory in the third. In the fifth and final pair, it was Tierney Diedrich and Erika Wangia pounding out a 21-15, 21-15 sweep to finish the match. DP (1-2) will return to Tavares March 26th with a tri-match against St, John Lutheran and Windermere Prep.
