Men's Water Polo tops Brother Rice

At the Dan Lynch Classic in Chicago, Illinois, Men's Water Polo struck early and often in a 19-3 opening round victory over Brother Rice. DP (16-3) erupted for nine unanswered goals in the first quarter and built a 13-0 lead at the half. Dan Magrino got the Panthers on the board first less than 20 seconds into the game, finishing with four goals and a pair of assists. Colin Bryant came off the bench and netted four goals as well, in addition to three steals. Sole Fratila tacked on four goals and picked up a steal, while James Sweet registered a hat trick, two assists and three steals. Max Meisenheimer and Adrian Britto both finished with a goal, two assists and two steals, Max Collingwood scored one, assisted on three more with a steal, and Gavin Collins wrapped up the DP onslaught with a goal, an assist and a steal. Gabe Madej was solid in the cage with seven saves, four assists and a steal. DP will advance to today's quarterfinal round at 6:15 pm to take on Naperville North, who upset powerhouse Stevenson, 12-11.
