Men's Track wins Charger Invitational

Men's Track and Field picked up their second meet title of the season as they took home the first place team trophy at the Charger Invitational at Liberty HS in Kissimmee this past Saturday. DP tallied 126.5 points with podium finishes in eight events, easily outrunning second place Hardee (89.5 points). Freshman Daniel Demontagnac won the gold medal in the high jump (5' 10") and earned the bronze in the long jump (19' 6.75") while senior Arron Edwards (42.08) and sophomore Jalen Thompson (43.81) took gold and silver for DP in the 300m hurdles. Freshman Emmanuel Pierre earned a pair of silver medals in the 100m (11.21) and 200m (22.47); Adam Berriz took the silver in the 3200m (10:19.45), as did Javarious Johnson in the high jump (5' 10"), and Nivon Holland finished with a bronze medal in the 100m in 11.54. The Panthers also took home the gold medal in both the 4 x 100m relay (43.43) and the 4 x 400m relay (3:30.69). They'll head up to Gainesville this weekend for the Pepsi Relays at UF.
