Flag Football improved to 5-2 on the season with a thorough beating of visiting University last night, 27-0. Senior Megan Lapeyrouse kick-started the Panther offense in the first quarter with a 75-yard touchdown run off a trick play for a 7-0 lead and later in the quarter, Taina Kong's interception set up a ten-yard touchdown pass from Ni'Kira Smith to Nisa Costa to push the lead to 13-0. Second quarter action saw Smith connect with Lapeyrouse for a five-yard scoring pass and Costa hauled in the two-point pass for a 21-0 lead at the break. After a scoreless third, DP added insurance in the fourth quarter as Ni'Kira Smith found Megan Lapeyrouse again for her third touchdown of the game for the 27-0 final. Nisa Costa led the offense with a career-high 11 receptions as well as two interceptions on defense. In JV action, all the offense was on defense as Bryttney Alexis returned three interceptions for touchdowns in an 18-7 victory over University last night. Clara Santos and Meghan Casseus registered a pair of sacks as the Panthers jump to 5-2. Both teams will travel to West Orange next Tuesday.
