Women's Water Polo tops Miami Beach

On the final day of competition at the Ransom Everglades Invitational, Women's Water Polo capped their weekend with a solid 11-5 victory over Miami Beach to finish 2-2 at the event. Junior Hope Miller tagged Miami Beach for four goals in set while junior Ana Luisa Cotta buried three goals in the cage from the outside and also added an assist and four steals. Sophomore Hannah Harris scored twice, assisted on two goals and gathered up a pair of steals while freshman Caitlin Clark and sophomore Mariana Porto added solo goals. Outstanding work between the pipes by junior goaltender Sam Horency, closing out with 12 saves, three assists and a steal as DP closes out their regular season with a record of 16-8. In the earlier game Saturday, the Panthers had a tough time with host Ransom as they fell, 12-2. Hannah Harris and Brittney Bonnin were the lone goal scorers. Tomorrow night, second-seeded DP will take on third-seeded West Orange in the semifinals of the District Tournament at 5:00 in the Aquatic Center.
