In their final regular season game Friday night, Softball scored in every inning, including six runs in the fifth, to put away host Celebration, 17-0, for their record-tying 15th shutout of the year, matching the mark set back in 2002. DP (19-5) banged out 11 hits, including five doubles and a triple, and senior pitcher Raychel Trocki struck out 12 batters to pick up her 18th victory of the season. At the plate, Trocki finished with a double, two RBIs, scored three runs and stole six bases. Gracie Lopez reached base four times, scored four runs and stole a career-high eight bases while Dejia Benn (2-3, double, two RBIs, two runs), Megan Rush (2-4, triple, RBI, two runs), Kati Kelly (2-3, RBI, two runs) and Jordan Hartman (2-3, double, two RBIs, run) provided plenty of punch. Freshman Ailey Schyck's RBI double in the fifth inning was her 34th RBI of the season, breaking Hannah Eden's school record set just last year. DP will jump into the District Tournament this week, hosting the semifinal game Tuesday night against either Boone or Freedom.
