Men's Track and Field clinched the 2019 District Championship with a gold medal finish in the 4 x 400m relay with Jalen Thompson, Myles Wiley, Arron Edwards and Jacquez Jones

Pierre leads Men's Track at Regional

Freshman Emmanuel Pierre earned medals in the 200m as well as the 4 x 100m relay to lead Men's Track and Field to a 17th-place team finish in the 32-team Regional Championship at Showalter Field yesterday. Pierre captured the bronze medal in the 200m with a season-best time of 22.12 and helped his teammates Jacquez Jones, Andrew Campos and Nivon Holland take the silver medal in the 4 x 100m relay. Pierre also placed tenth in the 100m with a time of 11.14. Freshman Daniel Demontagnac was DP's top finisher in the field events, placing sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 44' 2.5". Sophomore Myles Wiley earned a top ten finish in the 400m at 50.88, good for ninth, while the Panthers also had strong showings from senior Arron Edwards in the 300m hurdles (tenth, 40.62), Javarious Johnson in the high jump (tenth, 5' 9.75"), the 4 x 400m relay team of sophomore Jalen Thompson, Arron Edwards, junior Jacquez Jones and Myles Wiley (tenth, 3:28.33), senior Josh Matzner in the 3200m (12th, 10:16.42) and sophomore Jacob Collins in the pole vault (13th, 10' 10"). Emmanuel Pierre advances to the State Championship meet in Jacksonville next weekend individually in the 200m as well as with his  4 x 100m relay teammates Jacquez Jones, Andrew Campos and Nivon Holland.
