Baseball rocks Colonial on Senior Day
4/30/2019 10:01:00 PM

With eight of nine positions covered by seniors, some in unfamiliar positions, Baseball put six runs on the board over the first four innings and coasted to a 10-2 Senior Day victory over Colonial. Up 1-0 in the second, DP (17-6) struck for three more runs, highlighted by Mitchell Stockwell's two-run double and an RBI single by CJ Cantwell to push the lead to 4-0. Will Sullivan continued his torrid pace at the plate, doubling with one out in the third, and scored on a wild pitch. Colonial would scratch out runs in the fifth and sixth innings to close the gap to 6-2 but DP plated another four in the home sixth, punctuated by Jacob Hartman's third home run of the season, a two-run shot, that closed out the scoring. James Hurst, Mitchell Stockwell and Will Sullivan each registered a double while CJ Cantwell, Carlos Lopez, Jacob Hartman and Stockwell knocked in two runs apiece. Casey Carns got the start and went five innings, allowing two earned runs to pick up the win while Logan Bryan and Will Sullivan combined to allow just two hits over the final two innings while striking out three. DP will close out their regular season at Winter Park tonight at 6:30.
