1/9/2013 11:13:00 PM

Stefan Avram scored a goal and assisted on another and Andres Alvarez registered eight saves between the pipes, including one on a penalty kick, as Men's Soccer doubled up visiting Edgewater, 4-2. The Panthers took a 3-2 lead in the first half on goals by Moses Nunez (assist to Juan Obando), Matthew Babin (from Avram) and Avram (from Aidan Collins). In the second half, Juan Obando was fouled in the box by the goalkeeper and Manuel Rodriguez made the Eagles pay with a penalty kick goal in the 60th minute to seal the victory. Another solid showing from the defensive team of Tommy DiMauro, Colin Cleven, David DiMauro and Evan Barnes with Man of the Match honors going to midfielder Max Plavcan for a sensational showing on both ends of the field. DP evened its record at 5-5-3 and has gone 5-1-2 in their last eight matches. They'll travel to Apopka Thursday night for a critical Metro West Conference matchup at 7:30.
