Women's Track and Field hasn't even hit on all strides yet but their early season performances are already worthy of taking notice. The ladies placed fourth in the 21-team Lake Brantley Invitational yesterday, highlighted by three first place finishes and a new school record. Senior Amber Johnson won the 1600m (5:18.24), senior Bridget Blake followed up by winning the 3200m by over a full minute (10:52.90) and the DP also took home the gold in the 4 x 800m with Stephanie Onderick, Amber Johnson, Bridget Blake and Annika Sison coming in at 10:09.26. Junior Kira Myers broke her own school record in the pole vault with a height of ten feet even to place third overall and Ionna McKenzie, fresh off last weekend's State Championship in Women's Basketball, leaped 36'5" to take second in the triple jump. DP also had two more top five finishes on the day with freshman Alahni Wood taking fifth in the long jump (15'6.5") and junior Marly Joseph placing fifth as well in the 400m (1:02.65).
