3/13/2013 12:28:00 AM

Senior quarterback Hannah Schaible is vying to become the first Flag Football player to earn four consecutive Central Florida Player of the Year awards and if her first game of the season is any indication, she's gotten off to a great start. Schaible completed 16 of 19 passes including five for touchdowns, ran for two scores and caught a touchdown pass in a 55-0 battering of Freedom. DP (1-0) jumped out to a 34-0 halftime lead and the scoring chances continued in the second half as the defense recorded five interceptions on the night. Junior wide receiver Jade Cheek caught nine passes, four for touchdowns, and picked off a pass on defense. Sophomore Malia Harrison and freshman Tiane Kong each hauled in four passes while Kong threw a touchdown pass to Schaible as well. Freshman Isabella Vitello and junior Nikki Green each caught touchdown passes and led the defense with five flag pulls apiece. Interceptions were recorded by Cheek, freshman Diamond Alford (2), junior JShyra Reed and senior Nicole Deisseroth. DP will host Oak Ridge tomorrow night.
