Baseball rolls to fifth straight
3/14/2013 12:38:00 AM

While Softball was busy giving Freedom the business, Baseball was doing the same on the other diamond. DP (8-2) took down the host Patriots, 10-0, in a five inning one-hitter as well to record their fifth consecutive win and remain undefeated in District play (5-0). The bats stayed hot for DP as they've plated 36 runs in their last three games. Jakob Probst provided the muscle, with a two run home run to highlight a five-run second inning and finished 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Nic Strasser also knocked one out of the park in the fifth inning and scored twice.  Dan Autiello went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Zach Holbrook was 2 for 2 with a double and two runs, Matt Sullivan went 2 for 2 also and knocked in a run and scored twice and Ryan Larson doubled in a run and scored. Mike Flaherty improved to 5-0 on the season, striking out two and allowing no hits in three innings of work. Kyle Marman and Nick Roberts pitched the final two shutout innings. Having already locked up the top seed for the District Tournament, DP will host Freedom Friday at 4:30 looking to wrap up a perfect record in District play.
