Senior Victor Clavier has had an outstanding season this year for Men's Weightlifting and at Friday's sub-sectional meet, he also become the strongest lifter in Dr. Phillips history. Clavier set two records, a 665-pound total lift as well as a 305-pound clean and jerk record, in the 238 pound weight class, and also tied his existing record in the bench press with 360 pounds. Clavier's mark in both total weight and the clean and jerk eclipsed the previous records set in 1997 by five pounds and are also the all-time heaviest lifts among all classifications. In addition to Clavier's top finish at 238, senior Jerome Howard also placed first in the 119-pound class to qualify for the April 5th Sectional Meet while Taylor Nakashima (129), Adrian Parris (139), Mark Sewell (139), Jamil Aitouali (169), Gio Clavier (238), Kenderson Obas (Heavyweight) and Tadailon Colvin (Heavyweight) also qualified in their respective weight classes.
