4/6/2013 12:05:00 AM

Men's Weightlifting secured their second Sectional Championship in the last three years, edging second-place East River by one point, and leading the way once again were Victor Clavier and Jerome Howard. Howard captured the 119 pound class title with a total lift of 355 pounds and Clavier brought home the crown in the 238 pound weight class with a 620-pound total lift. Both lifters automatically qualify for the State Championship meet April 19th in Kissimmee while Taylor Nakashima (129), Adrian Parris (139), Mark Sewell (139), Jamil Aitouali (169), Gio Clavier (238), Kenderson Obas (Heavyweight) and Tadailon Colvin (Heavyweight) will await the results from the other Sectional meets to determine if their lifts will qualify them to move on. Additionally, congratulations to Howard and Clavier on being named to the All-Metro West Conference Weightlifting team and also to head coach Steve McHale on being named Metro West Coach of the Year!
