Men's Basketball jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back as they blasted visiting West Orange, 77-59. Freshman Chaundee Brown led the Panthers (13-6) with 19 points, four assists and two blocks while senior Ira Warren buried the Warriors with an explosive fourth quarter that saw an eight point lead swell to 20 in less than three minutes. DP capped a nearly perfect opening quarter when Warren (17 points) knocked down a 16-foot jumper with four seconds left for a 23-12 lead. The lead increased to 12 after three quarters, 51-39, but West Orange made a surge in the fourth. With 6:10 to play, the Warriors pulled to within eight, 51-43, but Ira Warren drained a three-pointer from the left arc, freshman Nick Smith followed up with a driving layup and Warren banked in a bucket from the lane as the Panthers reeled off nine straight points for a 60-43 lead. Warren then nailed a long three with 3:43 remaning to push the Panther lead to 65-45 and West Orange simply had no response. DP had four players score in double figures with Brown (19), Warren (17), Jonathan Laurent (17 points, eight rebounds) and David Stephen (14 points, eight assists, four rebounds). Wilkins Desir finished with six assists, five rebounds and two steals.

JV Basketball improved to 4-6 on the season with a 56-47 victory over West Orange. DP overcame an early shooting slump with an 8-0 run to open the second quarter to take a 26-25 lead and they led the rest of the way. Richard McKenzie finished with a team-high 14 points. Both JV and varsity will travel to Apopka Tuesday night.

Freshmen Basketball overcame a ten-point deficit with a 17-1 second quarter run in a 56-40 victory over West Orange. The Panthers built on that momentum and increased the run to 36-3 deep into the third quarter for a 41-17 lead before closing out with the 16-point victory. Tim Dozier led DP with 18 points as the Panthers improved to 4-3. They'll head to Cypress Creek Thursday as part of a tripleheader.
