Based on the strength of four gold medal finishes, including two relays, Men's Track and Field obliterated the competition in the Gateway Classic, their second team title in as many weeks. DP outdistanced the 23-team field by nearly 40 points. Sophomore Alvin Bryant won the 200m in 21.96 and senior Javon Thomas took the gold medal in the 300m hurdles (39.68), an event that saw the Panthers take three of the top four spots as senior Edwin D'Haiti took the silver (39.78) and Ronnell Mitchell placed fourth (41.86). DP won gold in both the 4 x 800 relay (8:05.19), the 4 x 100 relay (41.99) and placed second in the 4 x 400 relay in 3:26.73. Edwin D'Haiti earned his second silver in the 100m hurdles in 14.85 with Javon Thomas close behind in 15.32, good for fourth. Sophomore Jean D'Haiti placed second in the 800m with a time of 2:01.01 and third in the 1600m in 4:42.28.  Third place finishes were turned in by Deionte Gaines in the 100m (11.13), Jamari Smith in the 400m (51.16) and Adam Lawrence in the 3200m (10:17.88). Other top five finishers included Roderick Proctor in the long jump (fourth at 21-0), Marvin Brown in both the 200m (fourth in 22.65) and 100m (fifth in 11.21), and Deionte Gaines in the 200m (fifth in 22.67).
