Balanced scoring drives Men's Polo

Men's Water Polo saw junior Anshul Devnani put four shots into the back of the net in just the first quarter as the Panthers rolled to a 22-1 victory over host Ocoee. After Andrew Sweet fired a dart into the left side for DP's first goal, Devnani hit for four straight scores before the Panthers surged to a 13-0 lead midway through the second. Freshman Tyler Haugh notched a team-high five goals along with a pair of steals and senior Samer Diab scored four, assisted on three, nabbed a team-high five steals and recorded two field blocks. Eduardo Macias put two shots in the cage and had a team-high four assists; Gabe Baytan picked up a goal, an assist and a steal; Andrew Sweet scored twice while Corbin Chamberlain (goal, three assists), Alex Afanasiev (goal, steal), Parker Sellers (goal, three assists) and Jake Meisenheimer (two steals, assist) rounded out the stat column. Nik Lachinski didn't have the busiest night between the pipes but he tallied four saves and added two assists before giving way to Guillermo Mercon, who also finished with four saves and an assist. DP (4-0) will now focus on Boone Thursday night.
