Alizee Michaud wins DP's first line one Women's Tennis State Championship since 1993

Women's Tennis continues dominance

Down to Kissimmee we go where arguably the most impressive team of the early spring season has been Women's Tennis. Recall yesterday when we mentioned how the Panthers were not only undefeated in match play but also had yet to surrender a line victory in neither singles nor doubles. Well DP stayed true to their record against host Gateway with another dominating 7-0 victory and this time they did it with a full slate in their singles lineup. Defending State Champion and Stetson signee Alizee Michaud, Indiana-bound Sarah Baron, Rollins-commit Zoe Monge, junior Sara Veugeler and junior Yasesky Abreu all cruised to 8-0 victories in lines one through five. In doubles, junior Lara Nural and senior Melanie Wunsch rolled to an 8-1 line one victory while line two saw sophomore Raphaela Frias and junior McKenzi Heide shut out Gateway, 8-0. DP's record is now a perfect 8-0 as they head into today's showdown with Cypress Creek.
