Men's Water Polo finished the Wildcat Invitational with a 2-2 record, posting a thrilling overtime victory over state power Miami Ransom and a blowout of Riviera Beach Suncoast in the opener to finish out the weekend with a record of 7-2. Friday morning, DP took an early 5-1 lead on Suncoast and cruised to a 23-11 victory as junior Evan Staton claimed sole possession of the single-game scoring record with 12 goals to go with four assists, four steals and a field block. Staton had tied Davis Nina's 2009 record of 11 goals in a game earlier this season.  Junior Anshul Devnani recorded five goals, four assists and a steal; sophomore Parker Sellers put four in the cage, assisted on three more and tallied three steals. Solo goals by Jake Meisenheimer (assist, three steals) and Eduardo Macias (assist, steal) completed the scoring tally with Samer Diab (two assists), Andrew Sweet (two assists) and Tyler Haugh (steal) rounding out the statistics. Goaltender Nik Lachinski knocked away a career-high 17 shots, just one shy of tying the school record.

Game two provided the most excitement of the young season as the Panthers knocked off Miami Ransom in overtime, 10-9. Evan Staton scored a team-high seven goals, including the game-winner off an assist from Parker Sellers on DP's opening possession of overtime. Staton added an assist and two steals as well while Anshul Devnani (two goals, four steals), Parker Sellers (goal, three assists, steal), Eduardo Macias (assist, steal), Andrew Sweet (assist, steal) and Nik Lachinski (ten saves, assist) filled out the stat sheet.

Friday's nightcap was not the best for the Panthers as St. Thomas Aquinas jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first half before finishing with a 12-5 victory, DP's first loss of the season. Parker Sellers led the Panthers with two goals and three steals; Anshul Devnani scored twice and added two steals; Evan Staton had a goal and a steal with Jake Meisenheimer (three steals), Andrew Sweet (assist, two steals), Eduardo Macias (two steals), Samer Diab (assist) and Nik Lachinski (ten saves) finishing the statistical totals.

Saturday pitted DP against another state powerhouse, Miami Belen Jesuit, and though the Panthers gave a solid performance as a whole, Belen eked out a pair of late goals in the closing minutes for a 14-12 victory. Evan Staton scored seven goals, assisted on two others and picked up three steals with Anshul Devnani netting three, assisting on three with a steal. Parker Sellers picked up a goal along with four steals and two assists and Andrew Sweet scored one and notched two steals. Jake Meisenheimer finished with an assist and a steal while goaltender Nik Lachinski had another solid game with eight saves and an assist. DP will now take on West Orange Tuesday with a trip to Lake Nona two days later.
