3/11/2014 11:48:00 PM

Junior Anshul Devnani scored a career-high eight goals and junior Evan Staton added four goals, four assists and a school-record 15 steals as Men's Water Polo silenced West Orange, 18-5. Staton eclipsed Davis Nina's 2009 record by one before being subbed out for good at the end of the third quarter. DP (8-2) jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the opening period and nearly doubled the lead by the halftime break, 12-2. Junior Andrew Sweet had a solid outing with three goals, two assists and a steal; Sophomore Parker Sellers scored twice, assisted on a third and rounded up four steals while freshman Jake Meisenheimer finished out the goal tally and added four steals.  All told, the Panthers registered a season-high 32 steals, which is nearly triple the amount of shots West Orange was able to take on goaltender Nik Lachinski, who finished with seven saves and a team-high six assists. The Panthers, ranked first in the latest Central Florida poll, will take on number two Lake Nona Thursday night at Lake Highland Prep.
