Women's Lax takes command in district
3/14/2014 11:16:00 PM

Women's Lacrosse's game at Lake Nona had plenty of implication but the result made one thing perfectly clear: DP is still the team to beat as they charge towards the District Tournament. Freshman Elyse Decker scored a game-high six goals to lead the Panthers to a 16-7 victory over the Lions and moved DP to a perfect 4-0 record at the top of the standings. Hayleigh Martin put four in the cage, Amanda Massey notched her own hat trick while Jimena Davila put in a pair of goals and assisted on a third. Jackie Lopez chipped in a solo score while Piper Johnson added an assist. DP (8-1) was an impressive 16 of 25 on draw controls as they rolled to their eighth victory of the season. Tuesday night the Panthers will host North Florida powerhouse Bartram Trail at 7:00 pm.

JV Lacrosse improved their record to 3-2 with their third consecutive victory, 14-2 over host Lake Nona. Isabella Gigante paced DP with six goals while Sara Yousef and Rimma Arapkina scored a pair of goals apiece. Solo scores were registered by Julia Beu, Torrie Torres, Syera Ballmes and Rachel Madden while goaltender Jada Coy tallied six saves. They'll head down to Cypress Creek next Wednesday.
