Since 1989, Men's Volleyball has been one of Dr. Phillips High School's most successful programs, with a staggering .763 all-time winning percentage. Since 2004, April Ball has led the program with incredibly consistent success, amassing three Metro Conference Championships, five District Championships, three State Tournament appearances and the 2007 State Runner-Up. Individually, her resume includes three Metro Conference Coach of the Year awards and arguably more prestigious, the 2007 Dr. Phillips High School Coach of the Year award which is awarded to the top coach in a school filled with top coaches! Last night against the visiting Evans Trojans, Coach Ball added another milestone to an already exceptional list of accolades as her Panthers produced her 200th career victory as Men's Volleyball Head Coach! Her win tally places her fifth on the all-time win list for one sport among all coaches in DP history and she is now just 36 wins shy of owning the Men's Volleyball career win record! An unbelievable career that continues to build its legacy!

On the court tonight, the Panthers took down Evans in straight sets, 25-14, 25-7, 25-11 as Chris Violetta registered seven kills, Pierce Smith picked up four aces and Ladarius Tuggerson finished with five kills and two blocks. DP improved to 10-2 on the season and will get a nice break before returning to action at Apopka April 1st.
