Sullivan delivers Baseball past Apopka
3/20/2014 12:15:00 AM

With the bases loaded and nobody out in the bottom of the seventh inning, junior catcher Matt Sullivan drove an 0-2 pitch into right field, scoring Chase Cheek and Yasin Chentouf with the tying and winning runs as Baseball clipped Apopka, 2-1. Starting pitcher Griff Anderson  surrendered a first inning run but was nearly flawless over the next four innings, allowing no hits, walking just two and fanning two. Ryan Evans came on in relief in the sixth and struck out two with a walk to pick up the victory. DP only had six hits on the day as Tyler McCoskey finished 2-3 while Hakim Nobles went 1-2 but the pitching was dominant. The Panthers have now won eight straight games, outscoring their opponents 60-7 in that stretch. They'll face off with rival Edgewater this afternoon at 4:00 pm in a game televised live by Brighthouse Sports Network (channel 47 / HD 1147).
