Haille Walker at the 2014 Metro Conference Championship

Annika Sison and Sierra Middleton earned gold medals and Alahni Wood secured a total of four bronze medals to lead Women's Track and Field to a third place finish at the 2014 Metro West Conference Championship. Sison earned the gold in the 3200m with a time of 12:10.02 with Valeria Reyes placing fourth in a season-best 12:27.70 while Sierra Middleton earned valuable team points with a sixth place finish in 12:44.46. Middleton also captured her first gold medal in the pole vault with a height of 7-0 with Lydia Kulatti capturing the silver at 6-0. Alahni Wood earned three individual bronze medals in the long jump (15-11.5), triple jump (season high 35-3) and the 110m hurdles (15.33) and another with her 4 x 100m relay teammates Adajah IrvingMarly Joseph and Haille Walker in a season-best 50.27. Haille Walker earned herself a bronze medal with a 1:00.51 performance in the 400m while Marly Joseph placed sixth in 1:01.30 and later seventh in the 200m at 27.00. Annika Sison also placed fourth in two individual events, the 1600m (5:30.81) and the 800m (season best 2:26.88). Freshman Morgan Pinnock placed fourth in the shot put with a season long toss of 31-4 while sophomore Ketondra Cuyler threw a season-long 94-10 to place fifth in the discus and senior Keithlethia Cuyler was eighth with a throw of 83-10, her best of the season as well. Top eight finishes were also turned in by Briana Ballatt, sixth in the 800m (season best 2:27.36), Diamond Ellington, sixth in the 300m hurdles (50.80), Valeria Reyes, sixth in the 1600m (season best 5:46.80) and Jamie Ivey, seventh in the 1600m (season best 5:48.19). DP had a strong showing in the 4 x 800m relay as Annika SisonAdajah IrvingBriana Ballatt and Haille Walker took home the bronze in a season best time of 9:58.33. DP closed out a solid meet by placing fourth in the 4 x 400m relay with Adajah IrvingMarly JosephBriana Ballatt and Haille Walker with their fastest showing of the season, 4:05.21. Up next for the Panthers will be the UNF Invitational next weekend in Jacksonville.
