Women's Track and Field wins their first Metro title in 14 years (2015)

Women's Track wins Metro West Championship

Bolstered by gold medal victories in all three relays, Women's Track and Field captured the program's first Metro West Championship since 2001, easily outdistancing second place West Orange 194-124. Junior Alahni Wood won four medals, including a gold medal in the 100 hurdles (14.93), silver in the 300 hurdles (45.72) and bronze in the long jump (16-6). Wood also earned a gold medal in the 4 x 100m relay with teammates Jovani CulverAyanis Young and India Moon with a time of 48.79. Junior Haille Walker had an outstanding meet again with a gold medal in the 400m (58.98) as well as a pair of relay golds in the 4 x 800m with Shayla DouglasAdajah Irving and Annika Sison (9:46.83) and the 4 x 400m with Iyanna ArdisAdajah Irving and Jovani Culver (3:57.45). Jovani Culver earned two individual silver medals in the 100m (12.75) and the 200m (25.65) as did Annika Sison in the 3200m (11:40.67) and the 800m (2:23.93). Jah-Nay Anderson was the gold medalist in the triple jump (35-11), Iyanna Ardis earned the silver in the 400m (59.88) and Ketondra Cuyler took home the silver medal in the discus with a throw of 110-8. DP also had three bronze medalists: Jamie Ivey in the 3200m (12:08.62), Shayla Douglas in the 800m (2:24.70) and Lydia Kulatti in pole vault (7-0). Other top eight placers included Jah-Nay Anderson in the 400m (fourth) and triple jump (fifth), Adajah Irving in the 800m (fourth) and 100m (sixth), Izabella Smith in pole vault (fourth), Jordin Ferguson in pole vault (fifth), Isabela Bartczak in the 3200m (fifth), Alison Walker in the 1600m (fifth), Emma Canty in the 1600m (sixth), Lyric Jackson in the 300m hurdles (sixth), Morgan Pinnock in the discus (seventh) and shot put (eighth), and India Moon in the 100m (eighth). DP has now won all six meets they've competed in this year but next week gets more challenging as they head to the Seminole Invitational in Clermont.
