Baseball continues their streak
3/20/2015 2:14:00 PM

Great day on the diamond for Varsity Baseball as they picked up a 5-1 victory over Edgewater for their fourth straight win. Down 1-0, DP (7-6) used a four-run third inning and tacked on another in the fifth for good measure. In the third, Jeremy Strong led off with a double and scored on Chase Cheek's groundout to tie the game at 1-1. Back-to-back walks by Yasin Chentouf and Nick Conti set the table for Matt Sullivan who roped a double into left field to bring in Chentouf. Ruben Saldana stepped in and singled to center, driving in Conti and Sullivan for a 4-1 lead. Daniel Probst pitched five solid innings, allowing just five hits and an unearned run. Andrew Vaccacio came on in relief and struck out five batters in two innings and also committed to play ball next year for St. John's River State College! Tonight, DP will travel to Apopka for a huge Metro West battle that will be televised live by BrightHouse Sports Network channel 47 / HD 1147 at 7:00 pm.
