Women's Track dominates Seminole Invite

For the seventh time in as many attempts, Women's Track and Field came away with a dominating victory as they blew past the 19-team field at the Seminole Invitational. DP collected gold medals in eight events en route to a 164.5 point total, nearly 80 points better than second place HagertyAlahni Wood had a phenomenal day with gold medals in the 100m hurdles (personal record 14.77) and long jump (personal record 17-0.5) as well as a silver in the triple jump (35-2.5). Wood also earned a gold medal with Jovani CulverAdajah Irving and India Moon in the 4 x 100m relay (49.15). Culver picked up individual gold in the 200m with a personal best time of 25.45, a silver in the 400m (personal best 1:00.09) and earned a silver in the 4 x 400m relay with Iyanna ArdisShayla Douglas and Adajah Irving (3:58.98). Junior Annika Sison was the gold medalist in the 3200m (11:51.76) and also shared gold medal honors in the 4 x 800m relay with Shayla DouglasAdajah Irving and Lyric Jackson (9:50.67). Jah-Nay Anderson took the gold in the triple jump (35-7.5), bronze in the long jump (16-4.75) and fourth place  in high jump. Ketondra Cuyler was DP's gold medalist in the discus with a throw of 98-1 and Nyanni Davis earned bronze at 79-8. Haille Walker earned the silver medal in the 800m (2:26.01) with Shayla Douglas taking the bronze (2:26.38). Other top eight finishers included Morgan Pinnock in shot put (fourth), Lyric Jackson in long jump (fourth) and 300m hurdles (seventh), Hannah Waddell in 3200m (fourth), Iyanna Ardis in the 400m (fifth), Jamie Ivey in 3200m (fifth),and Micaela Morris in the discus (sixth) and shot put (seventh). Next weekend DP will be taking several members of the team to Gainesville for the Pepsi Relays.
