Junior Jake Meisenheimer and sophomore Alex Kaiser were the only two individual qualifiers for Men's Swimming and Diving at the 2015 State Championship and both turned in strong performances. For Kaiser, it was his second trip in as many years and he closed out his season with a 19th place finish among the field of 24, scoring 223.20 points in the competition. Jake Meisenheimer qualified in both the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle, and while he fell short of his personal goal of breaking his brother John's school record in the 500, Meisenheimer put forth a tremendous showing nevertheless, qualifying for consolation finals in both his events. In the 200 Freestyle he placed 14th in 1:44.65 and in the 500 Free, his time of 4:43.92 lifted him into 11th place. Meisenheimer earned nine team points for the Panthers giving DP a 43rd place finish among the 53-team field. Next season we can expect both Alex Kaiser and Jake Meisenheimer to return to the State Championship and be joined by a talented group of underclassmen that have the potential to score even more at next year's event. Congratulations to both and to head coach Natalie Nickson!
