Men's Basketball bounces back at Apopka

Men’s Basketball senior forward Justin Tucker added another double-double to his resume as he scored a game-high 24 points and ripped down 18 rebounds while junior guard Nick Smith added 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 62-57 victory over host Apopka. DP (17-4) responded well to a difficult loss to Olympia a night earlier. Sophomore guard Je’Quan Burton picked up ten points, four rebounds and three assists and sophomore Braxton Clark finished with four points, a team-high five assists and four rebounds.  JV Basketball improved their record to 9-1 with a victory over Apopka last night as well. No stats are available at this time but in DP’s 64-56 victory over Olympia Tuesday, Davarius Bargnare and Dante Love led the Panthers with 13 points apiece. In Freshmen Basketball action, Rakeem Perry scored a team-high 15 points to lead undefeated DP (10-0) to a 51-32 victory over the host Blue Darters, one night after Devon Buckhanon poured in 21 and Anthony Poole 12 in a 54-48 win over Olympia. All three squads will travel to Timber Creek Monday night.
