Annika Sison and Haille Walker give DP a 1-2 finish in the 800m (2015)

Women's Track cruises to TFA title

Women's Track and Field picked up their third straight title to open the season as they ran away with the Jeff Wentworth Relay championship trophy at First Academy Saturday. DP finished with 109.5 points, a full 36 points ahead of second place West Orange in the field of 22 teams. Senior Annika Sison pulled off first place finishes in three events: individually in the 3200m (11:45.53) and as part of the winning 4 x 800m relay with Haille Walker, Shayla Douglas and Adajah Irving (9:59.15) and the distance medley relay with Iyanna Ardis, Shayla Douglas and Isabela Bartczak (13:55.52). Jovani Culver took home a second place finish in the 100m (12.56) as well as runner-up finishes as part of three relay teams: the 4 x 100m (48.25) with Adajah Irving, Ebone Fortilien and Jada Sobratti; the 800m sprint relay (1:48.49) with Alahni Wood, Haille Walker and Adajah Irving; and the 4 x 400m relay (3:57.86) with Haille Walker, Shayla Douglas and Adajah Irving. Isabela Bartczak was second to Sison in the 3200m at 11:52.53 with Hannah Waddell taking third (12:15.56) for a sweep of the podium. Also placing second was the 4 x 200m relay team of Haille Walker, Iyanna Ardis, Ebone Fortilien and Jada Sobratti in 1:44.99. Rounding out the top eight finishers on the day were Alahni Wood in the 300m hurdles (third in 47.58), the 4 x 100m throwers relay team of Lydia Kulatti, Ketondra Cuyler, Micaela Morris and Morgan Pinnock (third in 1:01.31), Annika Sison in the mile (fourth in 5:21.89), Ebone Fortilien in the long jump (fourth at 15-3), the distance medley relay B team of Hannah Waddell, Franchesca CadetSavannah Alexander, and Charis Ivey (fifth in 13:55.52), Lyric Jackson in the 300m hurdles (sixth in 51.29), Izabella Smith in the pole vault (sixth at 7-6), Jada Sobratti in the 100m (sixth in 12.84), the 4 x 800m relay B team of Charis Ivey, Savannah Alexander, Sarah Zamot and Veronica Jackson (seventh in 10:54.00) and Hannah Waddell in the mile (eighth in 5:36.42).
