Sophomore Emare Hogan leads DP at the 2015 Lake Brantley Invitational

Senior speedster Alvin Bryant earned four individual titles to increase his career total to nine District Championships and Men’s Track and Field nipped Lake Nona by one point (134-133) to win the 2016 team title last night at Showalter Field. Bryant took home golds in the 100m (10.90), 200m (21.59) and as part of the 4 x 100m relay with Tanner Ingle, Caleb Walls and Yuan Pagan (42.22) and the 4 x 400m relay with Carl Schwartz, Jean D’Haiti and Emare Hogan (3:22.20). DP saw four runners place in the top six of the 800m with Emare Hogan taking the gold, Carl Schwartz the silver,   Jean D’Haiti fourth and Alex Nkuitabong sixth. Second place finishes were turned in by Larry Pierre in the 100m hurdles (15.57), Pearson Weaver in the 400m (49.64), Tanner Ingle in the long jump (21 9.25”) and the 4 x 800m relay team of Jean D’Haiti, Carl Schwartz, Alex Nkuitabong and Emare Hogan (8:02.67). Additional place winners included Pearson Weaver in the 200m (fourth and triple jump (fifth), Yuan Pagan in both the 100m and 200m (fifth),   in the shot put (fifth), Larry Pierre in the high jump (fifth), triple jump (seventh) and 300m hurdles (eighth), Bobby Irving in the triple jump (sixth), Felipe Starling in the 400m (seventh), Tanner Ingle in the 100m (seventh) and Michael Fox in the 100m hurdles (eighth). DP won its fifth District Championship in the last eight years and will now turn to the Regional Championship Tuesday at Lake Minneola.
