Women's Track and Field 3rd at District Championship

Women’s Track and Field saw top three finishes in 11 events to help them to a third place finish at the District Championship at Showalter Field. Senior Alahni Wood won the District title in the 100m hurdles in 14.99, was third in the triple jump and placed fourth in the long jump and also helped the 4 x 100m relay team to a second place finish with Franchesca Cadet, Ebone Fortilien and Jada Sobratti. Senior Annika Sison took second in the 1600m, fifth in the 3200m and also helped the 4 x 800m relay team to a second place finish with Isabela Bartczak, Haille Walker and Shayla Douglas. Adajah Irving also earned a second place finish in the 200m, fifth in the 400m, seventh in the 100m and helped the 4 x 400m relay team of Iyanna Ardis, Shayla Douglas and Haille Walker to a second place finish. Third place finishes went to Lyric Jackson in the 100m hurdles, Haille Walker in the 800m, Isabela Bartczak in the 3200m and Morgan Pinnock in the shot put. Other top eight scorers included Isabela Bartczak in the 1600m (fifth), Ketondra Cuyler in the discus (sixth), Izabella Smith in pole vault (sixth), Ebone Fortilien in the 100m (sixth), Lyric Jackson in the 300m hurdles (seventh), Tatyana Washington in the triple jump (seventh), Jada Sobratti in the 100m (eighth), Hannah Waddell in the 3200m (eighth), Ebone Fortilien in the long jump (eighth) and Micaela Morris in the shot put (eighth). DP finished just five points behind second place Winter Park and will travel to Lake Minneola Tuesday for the Regional Championship.
