For the second year in a row, Dr. Phillips' 4 x 800m relay team captured the gold medal and highlighted a top-ten team finish at the Men's Track and Field State Championship. The relay gold seemed a bit of a longshot this year after the Panthers graduated three of last year's four medalists but junior returnee Emare Hogan, junior Carl Schwartz, senior Jean D'Haiti and junior Alex Nkuitabong cut the finish line in 7:53.88 to continue what could now potentially be a DP dynasty in the event with three returnees next year. Hogan, D'Haiti and Schwartz would team up with senior Pearson Weaver and the team closed out the night with a bronze medal finish in the 4 x 400m relay in 3:18.14.

DP's 4 x 100m relay team of sophomore Tanner Ingle, senior Yuan Pagan, junior Caleb Walls and junior Emare Hogan placed sixth in 42.14 while individual placers included Emare Hogan in the 800m (sixth in 1:56.89), Tanner Ingle in the long jump (seventh in 22' 8.75") and Pearson Weaver in the 400m (eighth in 49.98). As a team, the Panthers scored 25 points and placed ninth in the field of 57 scoring teams, just 12 points behind State Champion Lyman, who finished second to DP a year ago. Congratulations to our entire team and our coaches on another incredible season!
