7/28/2016 10:02:00 AM

Men’s and Women’s Cross CountryLaura (Aleman) Kirkikis

Laura Kirkikis is a USATF certified coach from Louisiana who comes to us from St. Mary’s Dominican High School in New Orleans. A graduate of LSU, she lettered for three years in track and cross country for the Tigers from 2010-2013 and after graduation, she returned to her high school alma mater as an assistant coach for both sports, helping them to both district and conference championships. There will be an interest meeting for all new and returning runners, as well as parents, Tuesday, August 2nd, at 9:00 am in the north campus cafeteria. All are encouraged to attend! Tryouts for the teams will begin later next week.

Women’s Soccer:  Donny George

A native of England, Donny George comes to DP after a strong playing career at Baker University in Kansas (2011-2013), where he led the team to an undefeated season and the NAIA Final Four, and the Michigan Bucks of the Premier Development League. Prior to coming to the United States, he played under contract in England for Leiston FC, AFC Sadbury and the Ipswich Wanderers FC from 2002-2008. Coach George will be teaching Biology Honors and Marine Science here on campus. Soccer tryouts begin in October but there will be a preseason meeting scheduled in late August.

Women’s Volleyball: Danny Eleutiza

Coach Danny Eleutiza brings to DP a phenomenal resume that is far too extensive to list here. He is one of the top coaches at Orlando Tampa Volleyball Academy and also coached both Winter Springs HS and Foundation Academy to State Championship game appearances. Coach Eleutiza will also have Juno Cruz as his assistant coach. Coach Cruz is also an OTVA head coach and has had successful stints as an assistant at Winter Springs, Vero Beach, Bloomingdale and Santaluces. Read much more on both coaches on OTVA's website: http://www.ovatbva.com/#!south-coaches/ulqlq

Men’s Volleyball: Jeremy Fonnett

We didn’t need to look far for our new Men’s Volleyball coach as Jeremy Fonnett deservedly steps into the head coaching role after serving as the assistant to April Ball for many years. A DP graduate and an outstanding player in his own right, Coach Fonnett graduated from Florida State and returned to teach Biology at DP soon after. Coach Fonnett will also be assisting the Women’s Volleyball team under new head coach Danny Eleutiza and is looking forward to continuing the tradition of excellence in the men’s program next spring.
