Women's Cross Country earned three of the top five finishes and placed third in the team standings at the Metro West Conference Championship Friday morning. Junior Isabela Bartczak was crowned the individual Metro West Champion with a time of 19:21, the third-fastest finish of her career and a full 22 seconds faster than the runner-up. Junior Sarah Zamot also ran an outstanding race, placing fourth in 20:34, while junior Hannah Waddell clocked in at 20:40 to place fifth in the field of 68 runners. Freshman Roxanne Deisseroth placed 20th at 23:05 and senior Valeria Reyes capped the scoring five with a time of 23:34, good for 26th. DP and Olympia actually tied for second in points with 55 but the Titans got the nod for the runner-up as each team's sixth place runner's finish is used as the tiebreaker. DP will now get set for the District Championship next Saturday at Seminole State.
