Three-time defending Wrestling State Champion Dylan Meeks returned to the mat this past weekend and from all indications, he hasn't missed a beat since last we met. After missing the entire Football regular season following shoulder surgery, Meeks has proved he's every bit as strong as he was one year ago when he pinned his way through his third state championship run. Friday and Saturday in Deltona, Meeks went a perfect 7-0 with six first period pins and a forfeit victory to win the 285-pound class, despite conceding as many as 60 pounds per match to his opposition. DP also had a trio of fourth-place finishers. Freshman Gabriel Marquez won by pin in three of his four victories at 113 pounds, while junior Luis Forrestal finished with three pins in four victories at 170 pounds. At 220 pounds, junior Shaquille Kellyman won four matches, all by pin. The Panthers finished eighth as a team and will host Evans Wednesday night.
