The first regular season game for Women’s Water Polo was essentially over in the first quarter as DP put ten goals in the cage and led 16-2 at the half before coasting the rest of the way in a 22-6 victory over visiting Apopka. Senior Sarah Demsky and junior Caroline Grzeszczak each scored four goals while junior Bailey Valdes finished with three goals, three assists and three steals. Senior Tori Thind added three goals; senior Maddie Magrino closed out with two goals, two assists and six steals; sophomore Brittney Bonnin and freshman Hope Miller each scored twice as well. Senior Julia James finished with a goal and four assists while junior Jodi Manlio added a solo goal. Sophomore Peyton Haines got the start in goal for DP and tallied six saves and four assists while freshman Samantha Horency added three saves in the second half. The Panthers will head down to Boca Raton tomorrow for the St. Andrew’s Invitational.
