Men's Basketball honored seniors Nick Smith and Enrique Sinigaglia prior to their home game against Winter Park and once the ball tipped off, the Panthers made quick work of the Wildcats in an 85-64 victory, DP's highest point total since torching Pasco for 89 in 2015. In the first quarter, Daniel Love scored 11 of the team's 24 points and Je'Quan Burton knocked down a pair of threes for a 24-12 lead. In the second, Nick Smith was unstoppable, burying three from beyond the arc as the Panthers built a 15-point lead to go into the half up 41-26. Smith came out of the locker room in the third quarter and scored ten more of his season-high 25 points and also finished with five assists. As a team, DP (16-8) finished with 18 assists, 14 steals and drained 11 three-pointers. Daniel Love hit for 24 points and a game-high seven steals. Je'Quan Burton added a season-high 18 points along with seven rebounds. Dante Love (seven points, four assists), Enrique Sinigaglia (six points), Esdras Jean (two points, seven rebounds), Marcus Tillman (two points) and DJ Nenic (one point) completed the scorecard for the Panthers. They'll close out their regular season Saturday in Bartow as they take on Lake Wales in the Stinger Shootout at 12:15.
