The goals came early and often for Men's Lacrosse as they opened up their 2017 season with a 24-1 demolition of host Ocoee last night. Senior Zach Conner registered six goals and assisted on four more while Tre'len Johnston and Nick Stafford each put four in the cage. Senior Jason Sullivan touched nearly every stat column with arguably the best game of his career with three goals, four assists, 14 ground balls and a school-record tying 24 faceoff wins (Alex Carrillo, 2016). Brandon Harris scored twice and assisted on a third with Andrew Derusha (goal, assist), Nic Zampaglione (two goals), Scott Shreveport (goal), Victor Osuna (assist) and Rakiem Eddy (assist) rounding out the point distribution. In the JV Lacrosse opener, Julian Perez scored three goals while Nicholas Rodriguez and Daniel Porras scored two goals apiece as the Panthers shut down Ocoee, 11-0. William Rodriguez recorded two goals as well and added ten faceoff wins and ten ground balls to his credit. Xavier Carrion and Jonathon Gomez scored a goal apiece and Cesar Colon picked up an assist. Both teams will be back home in the Spoone Friday night against Hagerty.
