Sophomore Ebone Fortilien picked up right where she left off last year with a sensational opening weekend performance at the Early Hawk Invitational. Fortilien won the 100m, placed second in the long jump and helped her 4 x 100m relay teammates (Iyanna Ardis, Franchesca Cadet and Robilina Michel) to a first place victory. Izabella Smith won the pole vault with Lydia Kulatti taking second and Nowelia Blake fourth. Anaya Feliciano took home third in the triple jump and Morgan Pinnock did well in both the shot put (fourth) and discus (fifth). also finishing in the top five of their respective events were Jemiah Baker in the 300m hurdles (fourth) and long jump (fifth), Jadzia Young in the 300m hurdles (fifth) and Sarah Zamot in the 3200m (fifth). DP's 4 x 800m relay team also placed fifth with Savannah Alexander, Kambria Barry, Isabella Bartczak and Roxanne Deisseroth. Rounding out the scoring finishers were Domanique Douglas in the 100m (sixth), Nikaya Najair (seventh), Isabela Bartczak in the 3200m (seventh), Hannah Waddell in the 1600m (eighth), Robilina Michel in the 200m (eighth) and Agnys Jorge Savergnini in the 300m hurdles (eighth). A great showing as the ladies finished second in the 13-team field! They'll get set for the Seminole Invitational next weekend in Clermont.
