Women's Lacrosse takes Metro West crown
3/14/2017 11:51:00 PM

Freshman Mary Sosebee scored a career-high eight goals as Women's Lacrosse hammered visiting West Orange, 21-5, to improve to 12-0 on the season and clinched their first Metro West Championship since 2012. DP reached the 20-goal mark for the seventh consecutive game with no signs of slowing down. The Panthers jumped all over the Warriors, peppering the goaltender with 24 shots that included eight straight goals before West Orange had a chance to answer. Elyse Decker, who scored two goals of her own, assisted on four of DP's first eight scores as the Panthers built a 14-3 lead by the half to force a running clock the rest of the way. Piper Johnson finished the night with five goals while Lindsey Goldberg, Michelle McGrath, Zariah Durham and Yasmeen Garib notched a goal apiece. Once again the DP defense wasn't fooling around. Kambria Barry, Yasmeen Garib, Mackenzie Allen and Makinley Gay were sensational all night, tallying six successful re-defends while offensively, Justine Decker kept the momentum going with eight draw controls, six ground balls and also added three goals as well. JV will take on Evans tomorrow night while Varsity will wait until after the break to tackle Ocoee.
