Men's Water Polo handles Oviedo, Hagerty

Men's Water Polo improved its record to 18-5 with a pair of victories over Oviedo and Hagerty Tuesday night. In the opener against Oviedo, DP surged to a 15-0 lead after three quarters and dispatched the Lions, 18-2. Max Meisenheimer scored seven goals and added three steals as the sophomore eclipsed the 100 goal mark for the season. Liam Creus and Alex Kaiser scored three goals apiece with Jake Meisenheimer (two goals, four assists), James Sweet (goal, three steals), Gavin Collins (goal), Anthony Battestella (goal, three steals) and Dan Magrino (eight assists) rounding out the stat sheet. Tyler Haugh stopped 11 shots and added an assist and two steals in goal. Game two against Hagerty was much the same with DP tagging the Huskies for eight goals in the second quarter alone in a 22-4 thrashing. Max Meisenheimer matched his earlier performance with another seven goals as well as three steals and Dan Magrino finished with four goals, two assists and two steals. Double goal scorers included Anthony Battestella (plus four steals, assist), Liam Creus (two steals, assist), Isaac Teran (two steals) and Jake Meisenheimer (four steals). Also adding to the final tally were James Sweet (goal, two assists, three steals), Collin Haugh (goal, assist, two steals), Alex Kaiser (goal) and Gavin Collins (two assists, steal). Tyler Haugh finished with nine saves, a team-high six assists and a steal. DP will take on Seminole tomorrow morning to close out the regular season campaign.
