Men's Water Polo coasts into District final

Sophomore Max Meisenheimer scored all of his team-high six goals in the first half as Men's Water Polo battered visiting Apopka, 22-4, to advance to the District Championship game for the tenth consecutive year. DP (20-5) surged to a 10-2 lead in the first quarter and pulled away steadily throughout as ten players found the back of the net. Gavin Collins finished with four goals and three assists, while Jake Meisenheimer (two goals, four assists), Adrian Britto (two goals, two steals), Liam Creus (two goals, two steals), Collin Haugh (two goals, two steals), Alex Kaiser (goal, two steals), Italo Correa (goal), Gabe Madej (goal) and Alex Ngo (goal) completed the scoresheet. As a team, DP registered a season-high 37 steals, led by Isaac Teran with a career-high nine, followed by goaltender Anthony Battestella (eight steals, eight saves), Dan Magrino (four) and James Sweet (three). After the victory, Tyler Haugh and Jake Meisenheimer were recognized by their teammates and coaches for Senior Night. DP will now face Olympia for the DIstrict Championship tonight at 7:30.
