Junior catcher Sebastian Oetterer delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning scoring Hamzah Nobles and Brandon Fields as Baseball came back to beat Lake Nona, 2-1, in eight innings. In the visiting eighth inning, the Lions broke the scoreless tie with a run but DP responded well in the home half. Hamzah Nobles drove a 1-1 pitch into center field for a one-out base hit and two batters later, Brandon Fields singled to set the table for Oetterer. After taking the first pitch for a strike, Oetterer worked the count to 3-1 and then drilled a two-out shot to center for the game-winning hit. DP improved to 7-6 on the season and will wrap up the district series with Lake Nona on the road Friday.
In JV action, DP overcame a 4-2 deficit and scored five unanswered runs to defeat host Lake Nona, 7-4. Kieran O'Sullivan came on in relief in the third inning and went the rest of the way, allowing just one hit while striking out three.
