Bolstered by first place finishes in the 3200m, 1600m and pole vault, Women's Track and Field placed fifth in the 2017 Metro West Conference Championship. Junior Hannah Waddell took home the gold in the 1600m with a time of 5:45.73 and was followed by freshman Roxanne Deisseroth, who placed second by merely a second in 5:46.79. In the 3200m, junior Isabela Bartczak took the top spot with a time of 11:37.36 with Hannah Waddell earning a silver medal finish and junior Sabrina Bahr taking fourth. Junior Izabella Smith earned the Metro West title in pole vault with a finish of 8-6.25 while freshman Nowelia Blake took home the bronze. Other individual top eight finalists included Jadzia Young in the 300m hurdles (sixth), Roxanne Deisseroth in the 800m (sixth), Jemiah Baker in the high jump (seventh) and Tatyana Washington in the 100m hurdles (eighth). DP's 4 x 800m relay placed fifth with Savannah Alexander, Brittany Damon, Roxanne Deisseroth and Hannah Waddell. The 4 x 100m team of Iyanna Ardis, Franchesca Cadet, Ebone Fortilien and Robelina Michel took seventh, as did the 4 x 400m relay team of Courtney Afram-Gyening, Iyanna Ardis, Franchesca Cadet and Domanique Douglas. The Panthers will get another test at the Saints Invitational Friday at Trinity Prep.
