Junior Tanner Ingle and freshman Oshny Leger captured individual Metro West Conference titles and led Men's Track and Field to a fifth place finish overall. Ingle set the standard in the long jump at 22-7.5 while in pole vault, Leger took home top honors at 8-7.5 with the bronze going to Marcus Pruitt. Junior Michael Fox had a tremendous meet with a silver medal finish in the triple jump (42-6.75) and fifth place finishes in the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles. Senior Caleb Walls earned a silver medal in the 200m with a time of 21.87 and ran his fastest 100m of the season in 10.83, good for fourth place. Additional top eight performances were turned in by Antone Alexander in the long jump (fifth), Felipe Starling in the 400m (sixth), Sydney Capers in the 800m (seventh), Tanner Ingle in the 200m (seventh) and 100m (eighth), Tyrae Scott in the high jump (seventh) and 110m hurdles (eighth) and James Chery in the 200m (eighth). In the relay events, DP's 4 x 100m took home a bronze medal time of 41.91 behind James Chery, Emare Hogan, Tanner Ingle and Caleb Walls while the 4 x 800m team of Gryphon Lanahan, Seamus Magerl, Brayden McLellan and Myles Barker placed eighth. DP will now focus on Friday's meet at Trinity Prep before championship season begins next week.
