Host Winter Park and Dr. Phillips Men's Volleyball battled back and forth in their season finale but in the end, the Panthers came home with a solid five-set victory to wrap up their regular season with a record of 17-6. DP took game one, 25-18, but Winter Park evened the match with the same score in the second. A 25-21 victory in game three gave DP the momentum but the Wildcats knotted the match at two games each with a 26-24 win in the fourth. Game five was all DP, though, as the Panthers won going away, 15-4. Tremendous games for Sam Barnett, who finished with 24 kills and four blocks, Jordan Poventud, who closed with seven blocks and five kills, and Blake Inlow who collected 37 assists, 14 digs and three blocks. DP will move on to District Tournament action Tuesday as the second-seeded Panthers will take on third-seeded West Orange at Bishop Moore.
In JV Volleyball action, the Panthers went the distance with Winter Park but came up just short , 25-20, 12-25, 14-16. Anis Khan led DP (8-5) with 25 digs, Thomas Richmond finished with five kills and Dylan Clinton closed with four kills.
