Ortiz leads Men's XC to Metro West title

Senior Luis Ortiz has had quite the successful week. After earning Metro West runner-up in the Men's Swimming 500 freestyle event Wednesday, Ortiz was crowned the individual Metro West Conference Men's Cross Country champion and led the Panthers to their second conference title in three years. Ortiz finished the course in 16:59 in the field of 98 runners while Josh Matzner (17:47) and Bo Ivey (17:49) placed in the top ten as well with sixth and seventh place finishes, respectively. Kervenster Azor came through the shoot in 18:10 to finish 16th while Anthony Venturini's time of 18:26 put him in at number 20. The Panthers will head into the District Championship Friday, October 27th at West Orange.
