Women's Cross Country saw eight personal records fall as they took home the runner-up trophy at the 2017 District Championship

At the Women's Cross Country District Championship, Dr. Phillips senior Isabela Bartczak obliterated her personal record by eight seconds with a time of 18:15 to place second of 70 runners as the Panthers earned a second place team finish. Bartczak moved into the fourth-best time in school history (top three belong to three-time State Champion Bridget Blake) and she now owns two of the top six finishes. Senior Hannah Waddell crossed in a season-best 19:29 to placed fifth overall while senior Alison Walker's personal best time of 19:43 placed her eighth. Senior Sarah Zamot took 11th as her own, finishing in 19:57, while the final scoring spot went to sophomore Roxanne Deisseroth with a personal best time of 21:15, good for 22nd. DP's next five runners all set personal records as well: Geraldine Valencia (21:16), Sabrina Bahr (21:36), Isabelle Nemcik (22:07), Britney Damon (22:23) and Sydney Kaufman (22:58). The team's runner-up finish advances them all to the Regional CHampionship next Friday at Flagler Palm Coast.
